The BMI writers showcase is definitely something you don't want to miss... Even if you aren't affiliated with a music PRO organization such as BMI, ASCAP, or SESAQ, you should go to this monthly event to network and grow as a musician. The musicians you meet at shows will be your friends for life so it's great to meet them in their natural habitat.

The showcase has been going on for over 10 years thanks to BMI. On the first Monday of every month, four acoustic performers play for the audience in the live music room inside the Genghis Cohen restaurant. Although this is not exactly an open mic, it is a chance to play in front of music industry representatives if you're a member of BMI. There is a six month waiting list to perform - that's because you are pretty much guaranteed to make new and great connections at the showcase every time you perform.
